20 Nov Abby and Bryn’s Wedding at Montauk, New York
Last weekend, I wrapped up my most prolific season as a wedding photographer. Since then I’ve been looking back at some of favorite weddings of the year. One of them, no doubt, was Abby and Bryn’s beachside wedding at East By Northeast in Montauk, New York. I became a fan of Abby and Bryn when I learned about their passion for travel — they had journeyed from Cape Town to London for an entire year and kept a blog! We had our intro call via Skype just as I was about to embark on my 101 Days of Travel adventure with Kelly. I could tell it would be an awesome match!
You got the sense that a wedding is not just for the bride and groom but a communal experience from the way Abby and Bryn celebrated their special day. After a beautiful ceremony overlooking Fort Pond, Abby and Bryn, along with their entire wedding party, piled into a bus and we took to the beautiful sights of Montauk. As longtime residents of the Hamptons, Abby and Bryn knew all the spots to hit up including the Rolling Stones-famous Memory Motel, Cyri’s Fish House and the Sloppy Tuna. This was my first time in Montauk, and as I was snapping away, I was also making mental notes of places to come back to the next day. We returned to a warm and rockin’ reception at East by Northeast where I had set up a photo booth. That, along with party-hard dancing, toasts, incredible food, more dancing and then some late night pizza kept the place buzzing well into the night.
Congrats to Abby and Bryn on their amazing wedding!
