30 Jul Caroline and Tim’s Wedding at Winthrop Estate, Berkshires
July has been a month of nonstop weddings for me every weekend. This year, I’ve also added several destination weddings to my repertoire. While there are certain perks to a local New York City wedding (like the pleasure of being in your own bed within minutes of wrapping up a long day of shooting), I simply love destination weddings. Nothing like a few days of celebration and togetherness with your closest friends and family to ring in life as newlyweds. So, I found myself photographing another destination wedding in the Berkshires, amongst green hills and quaint towns. Just a couple of miles away was the Seven Hill Inn in Lenox where I photographed Chloe and Jenn’s epic wedding last year.
I “met” Caroline and Tim just days into my 101 Days of Travels earlier this year. I had just settled into my hotel in Dhaka, Bangladesh when we scheduled a Skype video call. The 12 hour time difference meant I would be getting up at 6 a.m. Dhaka time to join Caroline and Tim after work in New York City. We had a nice conversation (and luckily the Dhaka Internet connection held up) and before you knew it, I was sending over my contract to seal the deal. It was inspiring to meet wonderful people 8,000 mile away and then be able to earn the trust of photographing their most intimate day. I was able to do this on several other occasions during my 3-month plus travels. Believe me, I can really get used to this lifestyle of being on the other side of the world and still booking jobs.
I finally met Caroline and Tim in person first for coffee in New York a few days before the wedding, and then drove up to the Winthrop Estate in Lenox for the wedding. Congratulation to happy couple on their wedding engagement and thanks for allowing me to document their most special day!
